Sion is a coronary guide wire from Asahi Intecc. It has a hydrophilic coating providing greater lubricity than Sion Blue, increasing its ability to cross severe stenoses. Its spring coil length is 28 cm (cf. 20cm for Sion Blue), making its shaft more flexible, which in turn increases vessel trackability, and its ability to cross tortuous lesions. It has a tip load of 0.7 gf.
